Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about Somavera, personalization, or your subscription? Here are answers to the questions we hear most often.
Personalization
Is the diet analysis free, and do I need to sign up?
The analysis is free, and you can view your results without providing contact information or creating an account. After reviewing your results, you can choose to start a personalized multivitamin subscription.
How is my formula personalized?
We use your quiz answers to estimate the vitamins and minerals you get from food. We compare those estimates with recommended levels, then select a formula with doses designed to complement your diet and limit unnecessary excess.
How accurate is the diet analysis?
We combine your quiz answers with food composition data and established dietary assessment methods to estimate your nutrient intake. Accuracy depends on what you report and how well that day reflects your usual eating habits. The results help identify potential dietary gaps but do not diagnose nutrient deficiencies.
Aren’t all multivitamins designed to fill nutritional gaps?
Yes, but fixed nutrient amounts can leave some gaps unaddressed and contribute to unnecessary excess. Somavera selects your formula based on your estimated dietary intake, with doses designed to complement what you already get from food.
Can I retake the diet analysis and update my formula?
Yes. You can retake the diet analysis at any time to receive an updated formula recommendation based on your current diet.
Product & ingredients
Who develops your formulas?
Our formulas are developed by nutrition scientists, with scientific work led by Dr. Kijoon Kim. We bring together dietary assessment, nutrition research, and micronutrient formulation to guide our approach to personalized supplementation.
Do you test for pesticides and heavy metals?
Yes. Our ingredients are tested for pesticides and heavy metals as part of our quality checks.
Where are your multivitamins made?
Our multivitamins are manufactured and packaged in California, USA.
Are your multivitamins whole food–based?
Most of our nutrients are sourced from whole foods and microorganisms. Your formula’s Supplement Facts lists the nutrient forms and sources.
Are your multivitamins vegan, non-GMO, and gluten-free?
Our formulas are vegan, made with non-GMO ingredients, and free from gluten, soy, milk, eggs, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame. If you have other allergy concerns, please contact us before ordering.
Are your multivitamins FDA-approved?
No. The FDA does not approve dietary supplements for safety and effectiveness before they are sold. Supplements are still subject to requirements for safety, manufacturing, and labeling.
Can I take other supplements with my multivitamin?
Non-micronutrient supplements, such as omega-3s and probiotics, can often be taken alongside a multivitamin. Check with your healthcare provider before combining products, especially those containing additional vitamins or minerals.
How should I take my multivitamin?
Take one packet daily. You can take the pills together or at different times throughout the day. Taking them with a meal is recommended, but not required. Choose a routine that helps you remember to take them every day.
